BICYCLE LIGHTS LAW REQUIREMENTS IN Wisconsin

Wisconsin

It is illegal to operate a bicycle, motor bicycle, personal delivery device, electric scooter, or electric personal assistive mobility device on a highway, sidewalk, bicycle lane, or bicycle way during nighttime hours unless it is equipped with a white front light that can be seen from at least 500 feet or, in the case of a bicycle or motor bicycle, the operator is wearing the light. The vehicle must also have a red reflector on the rear with at least 2 inches of surface area or, for electric scooters and personal assistive mobility devices, 2 square inches of reflective tape. The red reflector must be visible from 50 to 500 feet when in front of a motor vehicle's upper beam headlamps. A steady or flashing red light visible from 500 feet can be used instead of the red reflector.
