According to SEC. 63-7-13, bicycles must be equipped with proper lighting equipment, including:

  1. A lighted white lamp on the front of the bicycle visible from at least 500 feet away under normal atmospheric conditions.
  2. A reflex mirror reflector or lamp on the rear of the bicycle exhibiting a red light visible from at least 500 feet away under normal atmospheric conditions.

This requirement ensures that bicycles are visible to other road users, especially during nighttime or low visibility conditions.
