Between sunset and sunrise, bicycles must be equipped with a white light on the front that can be seen from at least 500 feet away, a red reflector facing the rear that can be seen from at least 500 feet away, and an amber reflector on each side. In addition, to increase their visibility to other traffic, bicycle operators may include a white flashing lamp, light-emitting diode, or similar device in front and a red flashing lamp, light-emitting diode, or similar device visible from 500 feet away in the back. A light or lights worn by the bicycle operator must meet this subsection's requirements if they can be seen from the distances specified.
