Every bicycle used during nighttime must have a front light that emits a white light visible from at least 500 feet, and a red reflector on the rear approved by the department. The red reflector must be visible from 50 to 300 feet when in front of a motor vehicle's upper beam headlamps. A red light that is visible from 500 feet can also be used in addition to the red reflector.
